Outsource inspiration
Interserve's long standing commitment to provide Homebase with a fully tailored cleaning service model was recently rewarded with a new three year agreement, to provide contract cleaning services across all Homebase's 350 stores in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Within a short time period, 259 employees were transferred to Interserve to combine with the existing 450 strong team. During this difficult transition period, when teams were adapting to a new culture, it was vital to invest considerable time and energy in managing and motivating our people, ensuring that we could improve customer service and safety. A robust HR programme ensured that we maintained moral and retention.

Achievements
Interserve has developed a host of innovative technologies to support our teams by streamlining processes and improving management information:
- Interserve's real-time web-based client portal is tailored to Homebase's requirements and features instant access to detailed contract, service and performance information. This incorporates a Safety Audit System, an efficient central competency databank for all health and safety activities, ensuring on-site employees are trained to appropriate health and safety levels.
- ServiceTrac Audit enables each audit to be produced on a tablet PC, together with supporting photographs and videos. When completed it is signed digitally by both Interserve and Homebase representatives and uploaded to the client portal to ensure accurate management information.
Interserve is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and working with our supply chain to ensure that our equipment consumes energy in an efficient and environmentally responsible way. We also use ecologically sound enzyme based and micro-fibre cleaning technology.
