Interserve recently completed the two-phase construction and refurbishment project for Christchurch and St Peter’s Primary school. The first phase involved the construction of a new single-storey, flat-roofed extension to form two new classrooms that match the surrounding buildings.
The works included stripping the site off existing hard and soft landscaping; excavation for foundations and formation levels; construction of new concrete foundations and floor slab; forming external walls; roof construction and finish; new aluminium windows and doors; internally fitted out with new floor wall and ceiling finishes, cupboards and sink units; and provision of mechanical and electrical services.
During the second phase, Interserve refurbished and altered the two existing classrooms to form a new Sure Start centre with a reception area, interview room, consulting room, multi-use rooms, toilets, cleaners’ cupboard and store.
Interserve stripped out the classrooms prior to the construction of new partitions and alterations to existing walls. We also installed new aluminium windows and doors; new floor; and completed the wall and ceiling finishes throughout.
Additional services included:
- Creating sanitary ware and kitchenette, including the plumbing work
- New fixtures and fittings, including the reception desk
- Mechanical and electrical services, such as incorporating fire and security alarms, entry controls and induction loops
- Provision of a new five-bay car park and services
