Multi-site contract

Interserve has been awarded a contract to provide industrial services at Hunterston B, Hartlepool, Sizewell B and Torness Nuclear Power Stations on behalf of British Energy.

The contract, which has an initial duration of three years, and two further yearly options, has an anticipated value of around £8m per annum.

The contract will encompass the supply of access and thermal insulation services supporting the maintenance, project and outage activities on the four nuclear stations, with future plans to introduce a number of other stations subject to our performance. The services provided are site wide and include Radiation Controlled Area working.

Interserve was awarded the contract on the basis of alternative proposals, which require that British Energy and Interserve use our combined management ability to reduce costs and increase value. Our excellent and significant experience in delivering lowest cost highest value solutions of this nature was a key factor inbeing awarded this contract.

Interserve has also been responsible for carrying out building and civil engineering maintenance works at six nuclear power stations and has undertaken the design/construction of a low-level active waste facility. We are accustomed to operating in logistically challenging, highly technical environments in live stations, with demanding security and safety requirements.
