The strategic brief was to provide project and cost management skills to upgrade the existing water treatment works for the next 20 years. Interserve was engaged to provide the following professional services:

- Procurement of the main contractor, including detailed design to support tendering process for selection
- CDM co-ordination, taking on full responsibility for CDM duties

- Innovative approach, suggesting improved solution to like-for-like replacement originally requested
- Delivered added value through adopting new membrane technology into solution and overseeing the successful implementation of this approach which was new to the client
- Removed the environmental risks of a diesel powered water pump at the water source, replacing with electric pumps in a purpose-made enclosure, suitable for easy relocation as water levels varied
- Delivered sustainability improvements such as improved efficiency through pump selection and replacement
- Project management from scope and specification through to full responsibility for delivery onsite, providing continuous potable water and minimising disruptions for client
- Demonstrated collaborative working, partnering with Design team Capita Symonds and jointly facilitating risk workshop
