Extending Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates

We successfully completed one of our most challenging projects, the £110 million extension of Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, which involved the construction of 42,000 square metres of new premium shopping, entertainment, dining and car parking space above the existing mall.

The extension, which was completed with no disruption to trading in the stores below, opened late last year. This followed 18 months of construction and 12 million man hours that went into building two domes, three glass barrel roof lights, nine bridges and 12 new escalators to connect the extension to the existing mall and car park.

The new area, which is the size of eight football pitches, now houses 40 new retail outlets and a new 24-screen cinema complex including the largest IMAX theatre in the Middle East.
