The Industrial Services division of Interserve, the infrastructure and facilities management group, has been awarded a contract for projects and maintenance services by BAA plc estimated to be worth £10 million a year over an initial five years with the option of a two-year extension.

Interserve will be the preferred maintenance contractor in all existing terminals at Heathrow, BAA’s largest airport – with an opportunity to bid for Terminal 5 once operational – where it will provide mechanical, electrical and building fabric services. It will also have the opportunity to deliver work in these disciplines as a preferred supplier at Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow and Edinburgh airports.

“This contract underpins our continuing emphasis on sustainable revenue streams and exemplifies our strategy of deploying integrated project and maintenance skills into new areas of industrial facilities management,” said Stewart Hagerty, Managing Director of Interserve Industrial Services. “Our expertise in managing the complex delivery of services in demanding environments is ideally suited to airport operations and we believe it will bring real benefits to BAA.”
