Interserve awarded top 20 ranking in the Observer Good Companies Guide 2008
Services, maintenance and building group Interserve has been ranked 19th among the entire list of FTSE 350 companies in The Observer's "Good Companies Guide" 2008.
The guide assesses the performance of companies against a number of social, environmental and ethical factors. It was compiled by the newspaper in collaboration with Co-operative Asset Management as a tool to guide investors who wish to do business with responsible companies.
Adrian Ringrose, Interserve's Chief Executive, commented: "We are delighted that our hard work in the areas of social, economic and environmental sustainability has been recognised in this prestigious guide to ethical companies. Sustainable and ethical working practices are a board-level matter at Interserve and we have undertaken a number of initiatives to help implement them across the breadth and depth of our contracts. These include clear and practical guidelines for staff to increase sustainability in the work that they do, a way of recognising and rewarding these initiatives and the appointment of sustainability experts to provide strategic guidance on the subject. We are committed to delivering projects that take the needs of all of our stakeholders into account."
Interserve scored 76.59 out of a possible 100 in the guide.
