A royal day for Interserve
Interserve, the international services, maintenance and building group, today hosted senior members of the Royal Family at two very special occasions.
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh visited Beckton in East London to open a unique desalination plant built by Interserve’s joint venture with Acciona for Thames Water. The facility will take water from the tidal Thames and remove the salt to produce drinking water, providing extra capacity of up to 150 million litres per day - enough to supply about one million people.
Separately, HRH The Princess Royal visited the offices of RMD Kwikform in Aldridge to present Steven Dance, Managing Director of RMD Kwikform, with the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2010 for increasing its overseas business in the design, hire and sale of formwork and falsework by 185 per cent over the last six years.
Adrian Ringrose, Chief Executive of Interserve, commented: “This is a proud and exciting day for everyone at Interserve. The work of our team at Beckton will benefit millions of Londoners over the coming years, and the results of the outstanding growth generated by our people in RMD Kwikform are contributing to the economic wellbeing of the country as a whole.”
