Interserve wins £19m contract with Kettering General Hospital

Interserve, the international services, maintenance and building group, has been awarded a £19 million contract to construct a three-storey extension at Kettering General Hospital. Work commences this month with the opening scheduled for summer 2012.

The project has been awarded as part of the ProCure21 framework and will involve the hospital improving and relocating its intensive care facilities and children’s wards into a purpose-built unit. The facilities include an intensive care unit with 16 beds and 2 isolation rooms, and an integrated paediatric unit with a total of 32 beds including surgical and medical wards, a paediatric assessment unit and high-dependency facilities.

David Paterson, Interserve Executive Director, said, “Interserve has been working closely with the Trust for the last 12 months, developing the design to meet budget, functionality and accommodation requirements. Under ProCure21 we have been able to deliver many high quality, value-for-money facilities and, having won a place on the framework’s successor, ProCure21+, we are looking forward to continuing this service on behalf of NHS Trusts throughout England.”
