Interserve and BP win prestigious partnership award
International services, maintenance and building group Interserve and BP Chemicals have won the Partners in FM - Manufacturing award at the PFM Awards 2010.
This is the 17th year of the Premises and Facilities Management Awards, which recognise best practice in partnerships between support services and FM suppliers and their clients.
Interserve’s partnership with BP Hull began in August 1999, providing a host of industrial services within a highly complex, safety-critical environment. Ten years on the relationship has evolved to become one of the largest support services contracts in the UK, delivering a £14 million combined industrial services and total FM package, with Interserve and BP working together as a single delivery team.
Judge John de Lucy commented: “From the beginning of the visit Interserve was clearly a trusted partner. I was impressed by the growth of the partnership over a 10-year period, which demonstrated first-class delivery of a total FM and industrial services package and a clear perception that Interserve staff are fully integrated with the BP business. Cost and efficiency savings have been delivered and there is a strong sense of pride amongst Interserve staff that they are contributing to BP’s business goals. Moving forward to deliver services jointly to other occupiers on the Saltend Chemicals Park is also a sure sign that they have an excellent partnership - a worthy winner in this competitive category.”
Bill Craig, Interserve Managing Director – Industrial, said: “It’s great news that the success of our partnership with BP Chemicals has been recognised by this prestigious award. This achievement is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Interserve and BP team to deliver a diverse range of services that are driving efficiencies and supporting the BP vision to develop the Saltend Site into a world-class chemicals park.”
Chris Bowlas, Chemicals Park Manager, added: “The Interserve team offers a huge range of cost-effective services across the site both to BP Chemicals and a number of site partners. Interserve and BP Chemicals at Saltend operate as an alliance partnership bringing together world-class expertise from both companies.”
The panel of judges looked for evidence of a good partnership, its achievements and examples of innovation as well as how partners are working towards sustainability goals.
