Interserve Named Preferred Bidder for £60m Thames Riverside Works

13 August 2009

Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, has been named preferred bidder for a £60 million Thames Water Utilities contract covering the creation of new facilities and upgrade works at the Riverside Sludge Digestion plant.

Interserve will construct a new Thermal Hydrolysis Plant, refit digestion equipment and undertake alterations and extensions in order to meet the new Tideway Operating Agreement consent. In addition to handling sludge generated at the Riverside sewage treatment works (STW) the plant will also take material from the nearby Beckton STW. The contract is expected to be signed this autumn.

Adrian Ringrose, Interserve’s Chief Executive, said, “This will be another significant contract with Thames Water, with whom we have worked closely over a number of years. We will be building on the success and longevity of the relationship we have to provide these new facilities.”
