Interserve Wins Major Leeds NHS Trust Contract With Equitix
Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, has been awarded a 19-year contract by Equitix worth over £2.5 million a year to deliver facilities management at seven sites in Leeds providing a range of mental health services. These are owned and operated by Equitix in a Private Finance Initiative project on behalf of the Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust.
Interserve will employ over 150 staff to supply and manage a number of services including:
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Building maintenanceCleaning and window cleaning
- Catering
- Linen and laundry
- Portering
- Waste collection and disposal
- Estates management
- Grounds maintenance
- Equipment maintenance
- Pest control
- Clinical waste transfer.
The seven locations provide a range of mental health services for a variety of service users. They are:
- The Newsam Centre, a 92-bed specialist mental health unit for people between the ages of 16 and 65 including a psychiatric intensive care unit.
- The Mount, a 96-bed facility catering primarily for those over 65.
- The Becklin Centre, a 90-bed facility adjacent to St James’s Hospital providing inpatient and outpatient services for the 18 to 65 age group.
- Asket House, a 16-bed facility providing a continuing treatment and recovery service for people aged 18 to 65.
- Asket Croft, a 20-bed facility providing inpatient and day-treatment services for people over the age of 65, together with community team accommodation.
- Little Woodhouse Hall, a 13-bed unit offering inpatient and day-treatment services for children and adolescents.
- Parkside Lodge, a 12-bed Learning Disability Unit providing inpatient and outpatient services and an associated community team.
