by Interserve Press Office | Mar 07, 2012

Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has secured a place on National Grid’s five-year ‘Major Fabric Framework’.

This national framework will cover projects up to £5 million in value with works consisting typically of external and internal building refurbishment projects.

National Grid owns the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales and operates the system across the UK. It also owns and operates the high-pressure gas transmission system in Britain, and its distribution business delivers gas to 11 million homes and businesses.

National Grid’s property portfolio is made up of 1,450 properties and land holdings on 660 sites throughout Britain. The portfolio consists of offices, depots, houses and land, which are used for National Grid’s business operations, let to third parties or surplus to requirements.

Interserve Executive Director David Paterson said: “This appointment represents a renewal of our long and successful relationship with National Grid, and we are looking forward to working with them to our mutual benefit.”
