Interserve renews £40m facilities management contract with the Home Office

Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has had the option to extend its £40 million total facilities management contract with the Home Office taken up for a further two years.

The extension reflects the partnership that has developed between Interserve and the Home Office since it started delivering facilities services in 2008. The contract also provides support for the National Offender Management Service, the National Probation Service, UK Border Agency and the College of Policing, among others.

Interserve delivers a comprehensive approach to total facilities management services including, cleaning, catering, maintenance and security services and other more specialist services across 400 buildings and around 450,000m2 of property.

Interserve has developed a strategic proposal for the Home Office that will deliver further cost savings and efficiencies through an innovative management approach and a new mobile operating model.

Keith Dorling, Managing Director - Civil Government at Interserve commented: "This contract extension highlights the strong relationship that has developed between Interserve and the Home Office over the past five years. As part of our contract, we have helped the Home Office realise substantial savings and have provided added value by offering innovative ideas. One of which was to implement a new 'real time' mobile working and scheduling system for both planned and reactive works. This has resulted in an increase in engineer productivity and a reduction in the amount of administration and paperwork.
