Interserve reaches new heights with scaffolding and access solutions RoSPA award

by Interserve Press Office | Sep 19, 2013

Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has won a Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award for their sustained achievement and commitment towards workplace health and safety within their scaffolding and access division.

Dating back 57 years, the RoSPA Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention, and is open to all businesses across the UK and overseas.

The scheme provides an opportunity for businesses to prove their ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards. Entrants are assessed on accident records, as well as their core health and safety management systems including leadership practices and workforce involvement.

Guy Bruce, Managing Director - Industrial at Interserve said: "Our business places great importance on health and safety, ensuring all of our people across all of our locations are working as safely as possible. This is Interserve’s 26th award from RoSPA this year, and is a testament to our ongoing commitment to building and enhancing our safety culture throughout the business."

David Rawlins, RoSPA's awards manager, said: "RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition. Interserve has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award."

Interserve has also previously won a President's award - which is achieved after 10 consecutive Gold awards – signifying the recognition by RoSPA as leading in health and safety practices over a long period of time.
