Interserve awarded top excellence medal

Interserve awarded top excellence medalInterserve, the international support services and construction group, has been awarded the British Quality Foundation's 2013 Gold Medal for Excellence for its outstanding commitment to sustained excellence.

Interserve was presented with its award at the 2013 UK Excellence Awards ceremony which took place in London on Thursday 17 October. The event was hosted by broadcaster and journalist, Louise Minchin, and attended by guest of honour, John Cridland CBE, Director-General of the CBI.

Interserve also won last year's UK Excellence Award, and since then the company has invested significantly in sustainable development. In spring 2013 it launched its new SustainAbilities plan. This plan represents a more strategic approach to tackling the challenges facing society and the organisation's commitment to sustainable construction. It has set 15 goals with 48 targets to be met by 2020, one of which includes halving its carbon emissions.

The Gold Medal for Excellence is presented annually by the BQF Board of Directors to an organisation that has shown outstanding and continued commitment to excellence over a number of years.
