Press Release

Appointment of Chairman-designate

by Interserve Press Office | Nov 13, 2015

Glyn Barker will become Chairman on 1 March 2016. Interserve, the international support services and construction group, is pleased to announce that Glyn Barker is to join the Board from 1 January 2016 and will become Chairman on 1 March 2016.

Lord Blackwell announced last February that, after nine years as Chairman, he planned to stand down once a successor had been found.  He will retire from the Board on 29th February 2016.

Glyn has extensive experience as a business leader and adviser to FTSE100 companies and their boards on a wide variety of corporate and finance issues.

Glyn is a Non-Executive director of Aviva plc and of Berkeley Group Holdings plc, Chairman of Irwin Mitchell, Chairman of Transocean Partners LLC and Deputy Chairman of English National Opera.

Until December 2011 Glyn was Vice Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) UK. He also held a number of other senior positions at PwC, including UK Managing Partner, UK Head of Assurance and a member of its UK Management Board. He also built PwC's private equity focused Transactions business.

The Company confirms that there is no other information about Glyn requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.

Adrian Ringrose, Interserve’s Chief Executive Officer, said:

“On behalf of everyone at Interserve I thank Norman for his inspirational leadership of the Board since 2005 and for the huge contribution he has made to the development of the Company over the last ten years. We wish him all the best for the future.

“I am delighted that Glyn has agreed to join the Board. His experience in leading complex organisations and boards and of working closely with stakeholders will be a powerful asset for the Company as it continues to grow. I look forward to his contribution and guidance as we seek to achieve the Company's long-term strategic and business objectives."

Lord Blackwell, Interserve’s Chairman, said:

I look forward to welcoming Glyn to the Interserve Board. I am proud of the strong platform for future growth and development that the business has built in recent years and am delighted that Glyn will be succeeding me as Chairman to guide the next stage of the Company's evolution.”
