Interserve names Team and Employee of the Year at Annual Awards

by Interserve Press Office | Nov 17, 2015

2015 Interserve annual awardsThe team building Factory 2050, a next-generation aerospace factory in Sheffield, was named ‘Team of the Year’ at Interserve’s second annual Group-wide awards held at London’s Science Museum earlier this month.

Attended by over 150 guests and hosted by comedian Jon Clushaw, the nominees were joined by senior directors from across the business to celebrate an extraordinary year of achievement.

Simon Dovener, contract manager for Factory 2050, said:

“It’s absolutely fantastic to win the award. We really didn’t see it coming. Our team is great because it’s a good mixture of old and new. We’ve got some seasoned Interserve employees and some newcomers that have been with the company for just over a year. It’s been a genuine pleasure working as part of this team for the past year.”

Ramit Singh from Interserve’s International business in the Middle East was named ‘Employee of the Year’ for his achievements as an Environmental Ambassador with the Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency (EAD), as well as his charity work.

Ramit Singh, lead recruiter in Interserve’s International Division, said:

“I was amazed to win this award. I’ve had support from everyone including my senior managers, colleagues and my family, which has made this all possible. Interserve has helped me to grow – whenever I put an idea forward, it is supported. That is what I enjoy most about my team and the work we do.”

With 14 awards presented over the course of the afternoon, winners were recognised for bringing to life Interserve’s values, demonstrating an outstanding Health and Safety culture, acting sustainably and bringing innovation into the workplace. The competition was high, with each of the 66 nominees setting a high benchmark.

Adrian Ringrose, Interserve’s Chief Executive, said:

“Our annual awards are a high point of the year for me.  They provide chance to reflect on everything we have achieved and to recognise all the extraordinary individuals and teams who exemplify the best of our business.

The achievements of all our nominees are extraordinary and I’m sure that selecting our final winners was really tough.  In truth, all our nominees are winners in my mind and I am privileged to join them here today.”
