Do you want to join an ever-expanding international business?
Are you looking to reach the highest levels?
Do you want to play a key role in helping to define, drive and manage the technology that underpins business success?
Then the Interserve IT Graduate Scheme is the perfect choice for you.
Our scheme is designed to turn talented, ambitious graduates into the future technical innovators and leaders of Interserve. Graduates follow a 3-year scheme immersing them in our IT organisation as it goes through its continual transformation.
The scheme involves a series of placements in relevant specialist functions of our IT organisation to support a longer term aspirational move into an IT specialism. In support of this you have the opportunity to influence your placements towards your preferences of technical specialism.
Throughout this scheme we will continue to support your further learning and development through on the job training, courses and continual coaching and mentoring.
The role is based at our West Bromwich offices, with a move to our brand new purpose built offices by Birmingham Airport from 2018. The successful candidate must show the flexibility to be willing to travel, on occasion, to any of our locations throughout the UK and abroad as part of your exposure to the business.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a 2:2 degree or above (or be expected to achieve this level) in Computer Science, Business & IT or other IT or Business related subjects.
You will love all aspects of technology and be able to demonstrate this passion in how you communicate.
You will need to be able to demonstrate strong team, communication and relationship building skills as well as being highly adaptable.
We’re looking for the ability to absorb large volumes of information and then present it in a user-friendly and pragmatic way, whilst working to tight deadlines.
A desire to deliver the best level of service for your clients and an inquisitive nature to truly understand your clients’ drivers and needs
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to innovate and offer solutions.
Computer literacy and competency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel are essential.
What we offer
A competitive salary, with the scope to grow with you.
A 3 year fixed term contract in a full time role, starting in September 2017.
Continued development throughout the scheme, and successful demonstration of your ability and potential, will allow the successful candidate to secure a permanent role at the end of the scheme.
Our selection process
To ensure that we get individuals we feel will fit with Interserve’s Values and to give you an opportunity to get to know us better we have a structured selection process.
You will be asked to detail your preferences of technical specialism with your application to enable us to consider applicants against the available placements.
Application Questions – you will be asked to complete a number of competency based questions as part of your application
Psychometric Testing – for those successful at application, you will be invited to complete online test that measure your verbal and numerical critical reasoning. These are timed tests and candidates should ensure they prepare appropriately and use the free practice tests in advance.
Assessment Centre – We hold assessment centres as the next stage of the process. These typically last several hours and involve activities such as group exercises, individual tasks and interviews.
Final interview – As a final assessment for candidates successful at all of the previous stages we hold a final competency based interview.
