Raising standards for education in Leeds

Crawshaw Academy in Leeds, sponsored by Interserve, had a successful year, improving exam results and achieving a ‘Good’ rating by the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).

Interserve assumed sponsorship of Crawshaw Academy in September 2014 and has since helped the mixed school for 11-18 year-olds improve the quality of teaching and tackle underachievement by forming a partnership with the Red Kite Alliance, a local teaching and skills group. This helped the school achieve Ofsted ‘Good’ rating during the year, just 18 months after being placed into ‘Special Measures’.

As Academy sponsor, Interserve is responsible for running the school; shaping the curriculum, and delivering education for students based on strong school improvement, sound leadership and governance, skilled management, and close links with local communities and employers.
