The Lansdowne Project

    The Lansdowne Project
27th November 2018

Have you ever wanted to find out how to build an 18 storey luxury apartment tower block in central Birmingham?

Our Project team explains the complexities of constructing this pre-cast concrete frame building in a tight city centre location. Modern construction techniques were used to manufacture the frame and external walls including all bricks off-site.

See how over 2,400 precast units were delivered just in time and assembled using tower crane at a rate of 1 floor every 2 weeks. At the time of recording Level 16 was under construction including window installation on Level 11 using mast climbers whilst completing the internal stud walling on the Level 10 and finished apartments on Level 01 & 02. All this without the roof on!

Our team explains how technology has been used on site to monitor the sub-contractors progress, quality and manage safety. That coupled with a site that promotes collaboration and communication within the workforce and with their neighbours. Find out about the volunteering and fundraising work undertaken with the local Edwards Trust bereavement charity.

You will see that the success of this project depends on the team working together and every element of the process being managed accurately.

The Lansdowne project is a £27 million contract to design and build an 18 storey, 207 unit Private Rental Scheme apartment building at Hagley Road in Birmingham City Centre in partnership with Seven Capital and Long Harbour.
