Interserve - a woman's place

Pledge for parityTo coincide with International Women’s Day on 8 March, Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has launched a campaign to promote the diversity of opportunity for women across all its businesses.

Called ‘A Woman’s Place’ the campaign will run across Interserve’s website and social media channels, features five high-achieving women in varied roles across the company, from construction and engineering to probation, education and project management:

Catherine Ward, Group Human Resources Director at Interserve, said:

"International Women’s Day is a great opportunity for us to reflect on what we can and should be doing to promote equality of opportunity for all women. And although companies like Interserve have made real progress promoting greater diversity and inclusion, women are still under-represented in senior roles in sectors like construction, engineering and support services.

The picture is improving; women are starting to come forward in areas where they have historically not been represented. As a company we’re committed to supporting women to meet their full potential with us and as these case studies show, there are fantastic opportunities for talented and ambitious people meet their career goals – regardless of gender."

Interserve has further developed its ‘Women in Interserve’ network; rolled-out one-on-one and group coaching programmes to support the career progression of its female talent and improved maternity benefits across the business. The company has also extended its relationship with organisations that help it put programmes and practices in place to improve the diversity of its talent pipeline and build a culture of inclusion, including Business in the Community, Investors in Diversity, The Prince’s Trust, WISE, Ban the Box, Leonard Cheshire and Two Ticks.
