Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has launched a new research project – Workplace experiences: the science series - to explore the science behind creating more effective workplaces.
Working in partnership with leading workplace change experts, Advanced Workplace Associates (AWA), Interserve will develop a series of reports over the next two years examining the links between workplace design and the employee experience.
The project will review academic research into how the consumer world designs and delivers positive experiences, and apply this understanding to a commercial context. The final stage of the research will see Interserve and AWA set out a suite of practical tools and methodologies for businesses looking to improve their working environments.
Jeff Flanagan, managing director – commercial, at Interserve, said: “Our industry is increasingly recognising the critical role that the workplace plays in employee motivation and engagement. We need to have the right tools in place if we’re to develop this understanding further and drive real change.
“The recently announced Stoddart Review marks an important first step in the debate by exploring the links between the working environment and organisational productivity. Our research will expand this by looking more forensically at the relationship between the workplace experience and individual employee performance. More importantly, it will provide practical, commercial support for businesses.”
Defining, understanding and applying the science behind effective workplace experiences, the first white paper outlining the background and aims of the Interserve and AWA project, is now available to view online.
