Interserve wins place on £500 million health construction framework

by Interserve Press Office | Jun 12, 2017

Interserve wins place on £500 million health construction frameworkInterserve, the international support services and construction group, has won a place on a new £500 million construction framework launched by specialist healthcare property company Prime and Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (YDH).

Interserve is one of five companies that have been awarded a place on the Private Investment Construction (PIC) Framework, which has been set up to deliver privately-funded projects for the NHS and private healthcare operators. Interserve has won a place on Lot 1 and Lot 2 of the framework.  Lot 1 will provide national coverage across England and Wales and is for projects generally in excess of £10million, with Lot 2 set-up for construction projects below this value and covering the ‘South’ and ‘Central’ regions.

Adrian Ringrose, Interserve’s Chief Executive, said:

“This award highlights our strong track record in the health sector and our ability to deliver complex projects for our customers. It also continues our 15-year role on UK health frameworks, through which we have delivered over £1 billion worth of diverse healthcare facilities across more than 250 projects, including the UK’s first Proton Beam therapy unit, currently under construction at The Christie in Manchester.

We look forward to working collaboratively with Prime, YDH and our supply chain partners to deliver the exciting projects ahead.”

The four-year PIC framework, sponsored by YDH, will be a key tool for the delivery of a range of new build and refurbishment projects, giving contractors access to schemes across the acute, primary care, community care and elderly care sectors, across the NHS and private facilities.

Leighton Chumbley, Chief Executive of Prime, said:

“This is a framework unlike any other in the sector and will bring vital sources of value for money private funding into the healthcare market. The calibre and experience of our contractor partners means we will be able to bring forward vital strategic projects for our NHS and private clients over the next four years.”
