Update on Dunbar Energy from Waste Project

by Interserve Press Office | Jan 29, 2019

Interserve and its project partner Babcock & Wilcox today announced they have handed over the Dunbar renewable energy plant project to Viridor Enviroscot Ltd.

The Dunbar Energy Recovery Facility, a municipal waste-to-energy plant, in East Lothian, Scotland can process up to 38 tons of municipal waste per hour, delivering power to thousands of homes and businesses. It will contribute towards the Scottish Government’s target of sending zero biodegradable municipal waste to landfill by 2021.

Dougie Sutherland, Executive Director at Interserve, said:

“We are pleased to have completed the Dunbar project and handed it over to our customer Viridor Enviroscot Ltd. This is an important milestone in the transformation of Interserve.”
