Douglas OHI, part of Interserve Group Limited, the international support services, construction and equipment group, has picked up three awards in the Construction Week Oman Awards 2019.
Douglas OHI, was formed as a joint venture between Interserve and Oman Holdings International Company SAOG to deliver civil and building projects in the Sultanate of Oman.
Douglas OHI is a leading provider of construction services with a national business network, offering the flexibility to undertake a full range of sustainable solutions for building and civil engineering projects from business case, through design, procurement, construction and on-going after care.
Douglas OHI were named winners in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Initiative, and Health and Safety (HSE) Initiative categories, while Aaron Hennessy, General Manager at Douglas OHI was Highly Commended in the Construction Executive of the Year award.
The CSR Initiative of the Year awards recognised Douglas OHI’s six-month Empowerment of Women programme and was praised by judges for helping orphaned girls to learn and develop new skills and create self-employment opportunities.
Douglas OHI’s ‘Say Hello, Wave Goodbye Plant Safety Awareness Training Programme’ walked away with the HSE Initiative of the Year. Judges commended the programme for being a behavioural initiative with a common, embedded message across the team.
Aaron Hennessy, General Manager, Douglas OHI was highly commended in the Construction Executive of the Year award and singled out for his commitment to employee welfare and his support for the local community.
Aaron Hennessy said: “Being named in the Construction Week Oman Awards is a real testament of the hard work and dedication from colleagues across Douglas OHI, underscoring our commitment to health and safety, the community we work in and our experience, expertise and capability in construction and civil engineering in Oman to deliver Interserve International’s strategy to create a robust and growing business in the Middle East.”
